When will Viagra be Available

Viagra has been scarce due to a tiff between Teva and Pfizer, the latter being the original producer of the drug. The two companies have been quibbling over Teva’s attempt to produce Viagra’s generic version all the way back in 2010. However, the two companies have finally come to a truce and Pfizer has decided to allow Teva to produce a generic version of Viagra.
This will, of course, cost Teva royalties made out to Pfizer, whose medication has been successfully treating men with ED, and as a result has been raking in profits for the pharmaceutical giants. With this issue resolved, Teva will be allowed to launch its generic version of Viagra into the US market exactly on December 11, 2017.

Pfizer’s reaction to Teva’s attempt is understandable; it is the exact reason why brands have patents. Without them any Tom, Dick and Harry could start manufacturing them, not that it stops certain people. Nonetheless, if a competitor like Teva were to do so, it would drive a large chunk of business and profits away from Pfizer. This obviously left them with no option but to retaliate by suing them, and hence working out a deal that works for everyone.

The most convenient way to purchase Viagra is obviously via pharmacy stores’ websites. Online pharmacies have reduced costs due to their saving on not having a store front. This way they are able to offer a competitive lower price. It would obviously be wise to check the website you are buying from for FDA approvals or other licenses, before you actually make a purchase. There are always fake and fraudulent people online, and you would do best to stay away from adulterated Viagra that may cause more harm than good.

It is also important that you confer with your doctor or pharmacist before purchasing Viagra. It might be the case that you are allergic to sildenafil and hence cannot take it. You might also want to be careful if you are taking some other medication regularly, mixing Viagra with it especially if you have blood pressure issues, it can cause your blood pressure to drop dangerously low.
You may do well to take a look at the side effects of Viagra before taking it, just so you are forewarned and forearmed in case you experience any. Major side effects include your erection not subsiding after the 4 hour mark, or blindness in one or both eyes; both of which require immediate medical attention.

It is imperative then that when you visit your doctor for a prescription for Viagra, you tell him all the important information needed for him to advise you to the best of his knowledge. You must inform him of any heart problems you have had such as heart attack or a heart surgery within the past 6 months. You must also inform him if you have pulmonary hypertension, a penis deformity or trouble with your blood cells. Leaving information out is only likely to cause harm to you, and no one else.
